I compared it with my sealed box from 121-190, the product code on that one is 90410, on this one is 3061, so it was definitely produced before. The older one doesn't have a bar code either.    |

He wanted it to be posted here, so i write again - with a few modifications,( no big secret with internet anyway, but of course different languges are an obstacle) : Under the turbo box you see an area code of '1' for Istanbul. Until the 80’s The telephone numbers were 6 digits in istanbul . In 1983 this number 1 was introduced as area code for Istanbul in front of the numbers and the numbers were incresead to 7 digits. so 33 00 40 was for Kent offices and 1 was for Istanbul. now here the important question is when was this 1 ended and 3 digit area codes were introduced. These boxes definitely fall into this period. according to what i find in internet this was done in 1988. But when in 1988 is important. in 1988 2 new area codes were introduced for Istanbul, 212 for european side and 216 for the asian side. So in later boxes you will see telephone numbers starting with 212. This means if you have a box with the area code 1, that was produced between 1986 and 1988, as we know that 1-50 was started in 1986. Now when did serie 51-121 start i dont know for sure. maybe you can try to look at the covers you have and try to see the dates. If there are any saying new serie and with dates 1988 (even 1987) those would be 51-121. we know for sure that 1-50 was started in 1986 and still was being produced in 1987. ( from the ads in magazines. etc.) Now members who collect turbo covers can take a look and see what dates they have on the 51-121 covers (any covers that they believe to be 51-121) and post them here , and if possible with the images, so we can continue our analysis. In my humble opinion our friend Tzucuny has come across the one and only turbo 1-50 box to be seen by the collectioner mankind. |

A collector friend of mine from London was interested in another one of the boxes and asked me if I want one. So I gave it another look and realized that one of the boxes was a little different than the ones I have. I told my friend to buy one for me along with the one he wants. He came to visit New York a couple of months later and brought the box with him. I then compared it with my sealed box series 121-190 and noticed the differences mentioned above. So it ended up in my collection somewhat unintentionally. Ali - A million thanks for doing some research on it, without your help I wouldn't be able to know this information. |

I have one older wrapper uncut (an italian serie, not Turbo) but i did not understand the cause of this attached wrapper.
