I am happy to be finally back home and to write to the forum again. Here is a funny piece of material i found in Istanbul a few days ago as i had to go through there coming back. Atilgan was a small gum producer in late 70's and 80's. They would copy or imitate whatever they found, and produced and incredible amount of material. Another similar company at the time was basak (changed to zevk- basak later on ) It seems they copied the turbo 1-50 series to create their own turbo series gum cards. Here I want to post two cards - one is a copy of turbo 1-50 #15 , renumbered as 47, and turbo 1-50 #19, renumbered as 46. As you can see they have erased the letters in circle and in card number 46, they tried to repaint the car!! You can see the in the back image of the cards that there is no doubt about the production date. The format is typical of that peroid : 7 cards all attached together and folded in the acordeon style with an extension card board piece going in to a slit on the last card to keep it from opening. It was then packed in a gelatin with a gum. The size of each card is 6x4 cm. I am sure Kent didnt get a penny from them. Прикреплённая картинка |
